In the case of a failed ATTEST for autoclave monitoring, what measures would you suggest for items that were already autoclaved at that batch?  In the case of media preparation, would a sterility test of media prepared in that batch enough to justify that media is properly autoclaved?

Aimed at equipping attendees with essential skills for safe and correct PPE utilization, the event brought together 20 participants, 7 trainers from RMSc 7, and subject matter expert (SME) Dr. Athicha Mahayotha. The use of the ADDIE model, combined with Kolb’s Cycle, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Jensen’s Brain-Based Teaching, has applied and engaged learners across all age groups.

The training focused on strengthening practical knowledge and skills in biological waste segregation, safe handling, labeling, storage, decontamination, treatment, and final disposal, while applying a risk-based approach to laboratory biorisk management.

Participants also practiced the Assessment, Mitigation, and Performance (AMP) model and developed practical action plans to strengthen biological waste management and biosafety practices in their own laboratories.

The training was facilitated by NRML subject matter of expert on BWD, with the aim of promoting continuous improvement, safety culture, teamwork, and sustainable laboratory practices.

Together, we strengthen biosafety, biorisk management, and safer laboratory practices in Cambodia. 🇰🇭🔬

After we attended the RPHL Biological Waste Disposal workshop-train of the trainer on August last year in Bangkok, Thailand, we assigned to provide the training at my workplace and other institutions. One of the most memorable workshop was Biological Waste Disposal workshop-sustainable training. This workshop held on 23-24 April 2026 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Various background of participants  who related to biological waste in Chiang Mai attended this workshop were from government institution and university such as university staff, engineer, veterinarian and medical technologist. At that time, this was the first time that we trained the participants that we never know each other before and made us feel stressful. Fortunately, the workshop accomplished smoothy with satisfied feedback from most participants. After completion this workshop, we also created and received more BWD network so that we may work together in the future. As a BWD SME, we are proudly to be a trainer and can share our knowledge and experience to healthcare worker sustainably which support one health approach collaboration.
